About Madeline

Madeline is a second-year MFA student concentrating in lighting design and technology at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she has been working in the field of lighting design for nearly ten years. Madeline received her BA in theatre arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 and worked as a freelance lighting designer, electrician, and production manager in southwestern Pennsylvania. In addition to freelance work, Madeline was the Technical Coordinator for the nationally-ranked Point Park University Dance Department from 2020 until 2023.

As a color vision deficient lighting designer, Madeline brings a unique perspective to the field, alongside efforts in advocating for accessibility and equity in the theatre industry. She is committed to creating innovative and inclusive designs that enhance the theatrical experience for patrons, performers, and practitioners alike.

When not in the theatre, Madeline loves to cook, read, or go on hikes with her girlfriend Jessica and their pets Blanc, Jinx, and Ginger.
